Art exhibition at Moderna Museet Malmö highlighted
(November — December 2019)
The Agenda 2030 Graduate School and the museum of modern art in Malmö (Moderna Museet Malmö) arranged a seminar programme focused on the human relationship with nature. The project consisted of an international art exhibition called "Sensing Nature from Within" combined with an interdisciplinary programme of lectures, talks and performances. Several sustainability researchers from Lund University participated in the programme, and it gained a lot of traction in the media:

Visions for a sustainable Lund University developed during Lund University Future Week

Lund University Magazine (LUM) reports from the collaborative event between Lund University Sustainability Forum and the Agenda 2030 Graduate School where students, faculty representatives, the PhD students of the Agenda 2030 Graduate School and the university management had visionary discussions on how to create a sustainable Lund University by year 2030. Article on 0pportunities for wastewater reuse in Sweden

Our PhD student Maria Takman published an article in the magazine of The Swedish Association for Water, Tidskriften Vatten, on how wastewater reuse can be a resource in times of increased problems with water scarcity.

Report on how the Agenda 2030 affects different countries' research and innovation
(10 June, 2019)
FORMAS, a Swedish research council for sustainable development, has commissioned the consultancy company Ramboll to conduct a study on the impact of the Agenda 2030 on different countries' policies, strategies and activities in research and innovation. The Lund University Agenda 2030 Graduate School is highlighted as a good example on how to advance the sustainability issues within the academy.

The Swedish Agenda 2030 delegation's final report
(13 March, 2019)
The Swedish government has appointed an Agenda 2030 delegation with the task of promoting the national initiatives related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, and has presented a final report. Magdalena Bexell from Lund University does research on the politics and policies of Agenda 2030 and sees major challenges in the national sustainability work.

On the Affinity Between Human and Mountain - Om samhörigheten mellan människa och berg

The first event of the seminar series held at the art exhibition Sensing Nature from Within includes a talk with philosopher, writer and professor Jonna Bornemark and artist Hanna Ljungh. The seminar is held in Swedish.
The seminar series is co-arranged by Moderna Museet Malmö and the Agenda 2030 Graduate School.

Talk with Mikael Botnen Diamant
13 November, 9.00-11.00, LUX
Mikael Botnen Diamant, consultant and member of expert panel in the development of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will visit the Agenda 2030 Graduate School and its PhD students. Mikael will talk about how the SDGs were created, differences in implementation of the goals between Sweden and low-income countries and share experiences on working with the goals with universities and other stakeholders.

Kristina Jönsson, coordinator of the Agenda 2030 Graduate School, participates in a panel on "Interdisciplinarity - Creating space to push the disciplinary boundaries in academia" at the annual teaching and learning conference of the university.
U21 RISE Awards at Lund University
29 October
Coordinator Kristina Jönsson holds a keynote speech about the importance and relevance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the RISE Awards at Lund University. The event is a competition for students and recent graduates aiming for showcasing new talents in sustainablity and social innovation. The winner, Wenjing Yang and her project Solar4Schools, developed an automatic stand-alone solar system for schools in developing countries. In January 2020, the global winner will be announced by U21.

Re-thinking money for a sustainable future

Professor Ester Barinaga, associate professor Anders Ögren and the Sustainable Future Hub at Lund University School of Economics and Management invite PhD students at Lund University to a workshop on how to re-think monetary systems.
